A few things
to know.
Can I use Bodhi on my own?
Yes. Text Bodhi privately and talk naturally—no group or @mention needed. Ask about your own surfing, boards, goals or next session. Choose Personal at signup for private access, or Crew if you’ll activate a group.
How does Bodhi join my crew?
Choose Crew at signup, send your join message privately, then add Bodhi to one compatible iMessage group and say “@bodhi introduce yourself.” Every participating surfer needs their own place in the 25. In the group, use @bodhi to ask a question. In a private text, just talk naturally.
Is the pilot free? How would payment work?
The first-25 pilot is free, with up to five AI questions per person per day across chats and one scheduled surf report per chat. These depend on shared capacity; busy responses can queue and reports may be skipped if fresh data is unavailable. We’re testing interest in $5/month personal access and $15/month for a crew of up to eight, including members’ private access. Usage allowances and payment sharing are still being designed. There’s no checkout or automatic paid renewal here.
Do I need to be an experienced surfer?
Come as you are. Ask what a forecast means, which board could make learning easier, or how to work on a particular maneuver. Bodhi uses what you share about your experience and goals to meet you where you are.
What does he remember?
Bodhi keeps useful surf context for each chat. Your optional personal profile can carry your preferences between chats linked to your phone. Session logs stay separate by chat. You can view your memory, switch it off, or ask Bodhi to forget you.
Can I send photos and product questions?
Yes. Send your question with up to three still JPEG, PNG or WebP images. If an iPhone photo arrives as HEIC, Bodhi will ask for a JPEG or screenshot. Product recommendations include sourced links; check the exact model, current price and size on the linked page.
Where does Bodhi know the surf best?
The pilot is for California surfers, with the strongest forecast evidence around Santa Barbara and Ventura. Other California spots have varying coverage; Bodhi explains missing or regional data. He doesn’t have a live view of every break or a guarantee of the conditions you’ll find. General gear and technique questions travel further; expanding verified local forecast coverage comes next.
